Hi all, I recently got a saiga 7.62x39. I also purchased a burris fastfire II. My question is, would this sight be better mounted on a front rail or back? Im looking to either get a TWS dogleg or a UTG quad-rail.

What are the pros/cons of mounting towards the front vs the back?

Thanks

Oh its mainly my "in case sh-t hits the fan" gun, but I plan on using it mostly for plinking, and possibly boar hunting (as I do not own any other rifles).

Depends on how you hold the gun and how you rest your head on the stock, really.

Experiment with 2 eye open drills and the optic in both places. See which place is easier for you to find the dot in a hurry.

On some guns I run a red dot way back, and on others I like them further forward. It really depends on the gun.
