Carry 0
Hi all, I recently got a saiga 7.62x39. I also purchased a burris fastfire II. My question is, would this sight be better mounted on a front rail or back? Im looking to either get a TWS dogleg or a UTG quad-rail. What are the pros/cons of mounting towards the front vs the back? Thanks

Thanks Oh its mainly my "in case sh-t hits the fan" gun, but I plan on using it mostly for plinking, and possibly boar hunting (as I do not own any other rifles). Scott Kenny 144
IMO, red-dots should go as far forward as possible, to prevent you from closing an eye to shoot through them.
Mephis 82
Depends on how you hold the gun and how you rest your head on the stock, really. Experiment with 2 eye open drills and the optic in both places. See which place is easier for you to find the dot in a hurry. On some guns I run a red dot way back, and on others I like them further forward. It really depends on the gun.
