mark77 1
This is dumb, but is the dummy round supposed to stay in the drum? Or should i take it out? The directions that come with the drum arent what i would call clear. One other question. Does the drum need to be taken apart and the spring tension messed with for sure? Or can i use it as is? EthanM 514
I just used it as is. I have never taken it apart or messed with the spring tension.
yooper14.5 84
If you're gun cycles federal bulk with the stock spring tension, leave that alone. The dummy round is nesecary for the drum to work, and pushes the last round out of the top of the drum. Without it the drum is useless. So don't take it out. Use it as-is. I have eleven of them and they all work fine at the pre-set tension. Here is some 10 MD-20 drum goodness. All of them have 3 turns of tension. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw7TcP9zXU4

I also have a question along that line.....My gun cycles Federal Bulk out of stick mags but not the drum....Do I need a small adjustment? And do I adjust it to more or less spring tension? Id try dropping a turn of tension, it lessens the spring tension so that it applys less pressure against the bottom of the bolt. If that doesn't work, you might need gas work.
