TwentyNizzo 66
Here's what I've learned with 7N6. There are 4 parts of the rifle that need to be cleaned after shooting: the bore, the gas tube, the gas block, and the face of the gas piston. Everywhere else does not need to be cleaned other than wiping with a paper towel, if you choose, as I have not seen any corrosion develop in these areas. I've used boiling hot water, and frankly, I don't think it's the best idea, as you are simply introducing the necessary ingredient for corrosion to form. Even with vigorous drying and using boiling water which heats up the rifle greatly, I've still had corrosion develop in the gas block at the port. I've found it is very hard to get this area completely dry. I've come to the conclusion that the need for cleaning up after firing corrosive ammo is greatly embellished online. I think from now on I will spray something like Ballistol in the areas I have documented above and then give it a good wipe down.
