Dagblastit 0
I am a very skilled tig welder. However, I am new to modifying a S-12. Does anyone see any reason why I shouldn't weld the end of the rivet where the rivet heads used to be to the reciever? This seems much easier and cost effective than peening for me. Heath_h49008 442
That's what I did. Looks fine, I actually left them raised slightly. Check my gallery. Low power, sharp tungsten, DC-, 5 minutes, filler if you feel like it.
G O B 3,516
Rivet, hammer bang bang DONE! Tig if you want, but it is SO much quicker to rivet.
Dagblastit 0
Then welded it shall be. Not to say i have anything against the rivet solution. As a welder, I take pride in my craft and would like to use it on my new fascinating thing. Thanks for the feedback!
