Factory 5rd mags vs ProMag

First, Who has the best best prices on factory S12 5rd mags.

All the sources I find show them as out of stock.

 

Second I have been experimenting at the range with different loads and mags.

 

These are my experiences

 

Factory mags feed without FTE anything I could put at it.

ProMag 10rd mags feed most but i experienced problems ejecting Fiocchi 12HV00BK 2.75 00 bk and Winchester Universal 1200fps low brass

ProMag 20rd drums feed the same as the 10rd mags by the same manufacturer.

 

Upon investigation the steel feed lips on all the ProMags allowed the rounds to ride approx. .75mm higher causing the shells to ride too high and not eject some of the lower recoil shells.

 

So that goes back to question 1. Where or who has the best prices on factory 5rd magazines.

I picked up a couple 5 rounders from Midway USA for 28.62 a piece plus shipping. Looks like the still have them for that price.

Thanks looks like they are closing them out but I will check.

 

I am looking at the construction of the ProMags. I may try modifying them also.

I will document with photos if I am successful.

From my experience they are great with 2.75" only. 3" shells start giving them problems.
