Milled off the charging handle, drilled and tapped it and made my own little fancy.. JT Magwell,Milled rear block,JT Optic Mount.. Heated and made a biggger radius on the G2.. Sent the carrier/bolt to Paulie for some polish.. Got some more stuff to do,but its coming along!
Doug Hartley 526
Looks pretty snappy. You going to make it to Ironman and the Northwest Multigun Challenge? NWMGC is going to be in Bend this year, closer to Idaho than last year. Doug
snafu360 21
Hey thanks. If all goes to plan, Ironman is on the agenda. Ill see if i can make it out to bend this year. Always good to get out that way!
jdtravers 637
Yeah, definitely do Ironman! Calloway and I will be heading up there for 2012. I am shooting Tac Optics, but I may shoot Open also (if they let me). See ya there! Gotta get that 100 dollar bill back Doug!! Jack
JaredC 23
Did you make your own safety lever or buy it from somewhere, or just have it polished?
snafu360 21
Awesome ill be there then! Hope i catch you,i know they split the days up on the tac optics and the open guys...so you better be shooting open! Jared, I just bead blasted the safety, and added some grip tape.I have an idea that is going to make it similar to the krebs, but i really just want to do an AR style safety. Sooner or later i'm going to do another saiga with all the bells and whistles.(shorten gas system, mid barrel comp, threaded chokes,ar style safety).Because they say bring TWO of everything and plenty of ammo for Ironman! jdtravers 637
Practice, practice, practice. Check out the video of the new magwell and that is a bare bones stock saiga I am shooting. Haven't shot much this year because of the heavy work load, but with more practice, I can shoot a stock saiga faster than one of my high end open guns. It is all in the technique!! Oops did I just say that??? Actually I am faster with Iron sights than I am with the red dots. My near vision is coming back so that is why I am going back to Tac Optics. Just never really shot Open Division very well. Jack
Scott Kenny 144
Actually, the Ironman crowd is the friendliest bunch of folks out there, so I've heard. As long as you brought about twice the ammo required, if a gun goes down chances are someone has one close to your setup that they can loan you to finish with. Unless you're a psycho and shoot Trooper class.

If you shoot Open I'll tell Travis to put us on the same squad and we can battle over that crusty old bill. The Tac Ops guys shoot the following weekend so if you only shoot that match I wouldn't see you. Doug
TonyRumore 1,332
As a Machinist working on these saigas are fun! After you work on about 1,500 of them, that fun factor will wear right the fuck off. Tony
