I think CSS does sell the covers +1 on cutting that thing outta there.

I can only find dust covers for rifles at CSS

Aren't they the same? I figured they were...

No, the S12 cover has a larger cut out for the larger shell.

Well, other than that, the rest of the dimensions are the same? If so, then all it takes is a dremel, a cut-off wheel, and a sanding disc to fix that!

Man your right, only rifles. Maybe a email to Greg? He might have a source?

I'd rather replace the cover than the stock, unless you hate your stock.

Well, it IS a non-conversion stock and, subsequently, will be pretty useless after conversion...

I agree, and I look forward to hearing just exactly what caused this, I will say this though, when I got a crapco stock for my old S-12, the screws that came with it had smaller heads, I didn't use them, I just recycled the old Izhmash screws that were in the original stock.

Well that was it, GOB has the instructions down how to get it apart then just put a lot of torque on the screw...put it back togethere and it is working fine (other than the BHO getting stuck every 7 or 8 times I lock it back). Work around on that is just to bump it on the ground and it will release (until I get some of the upgrades that most of you all have).

Thanks all!

It's great to know that you've got it where you can take it apart again, that's kind of a big deal. I'd completely remove that screw, there should be at least one more that holds the stock on, probably two, and if that stock is anywhere near as tight fitting into the receiver as the original stock, you'd probably be fine without any screws at all...

I'm running a folder, and I've cut the tang off, I'm only running the little allen screws that go into the side of the receiver, I made sure not to install that top one in the rear just because of your predicament.

To date, aside from the factory screw-ups, that screws location is the only design flaw that I can find with the S-12...
