vindex 3
is there any real difference between what you buy on say dinzag's site, or that precision tools site, or for that matter, any other die included in a threading kit, and what you might buy locally, or at lowe's etc.? it's hard to swallow paying $30+ for something that others are selling for $10-15. thanks. no offense to dinzag btw. i've purchased stuff from him before, and he's great...i'm just on a strict budget these days. markdavidson 28
it's that left-handed thread that's going to get ya
vindex 3
not sure what you mean. the dies i'm looking at are all 14x1 LH.
mancat 2,368
Why wouldn't it? If you can test a brake on a threaded tap from the same kit/manufacturer, and it works, you should be good to go with the die.
imarangemaster 315
Where did you find a left hand thread die without ordering online? LOWES and Homedepot only had RH dies last time I checked.
poolingmyignorance 2,191
Most cases it's the quality of the steel. If your cutting something really hard it'll dull out quicky if it's cheap. But hey, you might get enough use out of it for one rifle.
vindex 3
below are a couple of the sites i was looking on. lowes and home depot do indeed have LH kits, but according to numerous reviews, they are of low quality....so i guess that would be a role of the dice. the others however, if of suitable durability, would be at least $10 less after shipping than what you see on gun-affiliated retail sites(i.e. $30-40). i just hate paying two times or more what i should be for something. http://www.wttool.com/index/page/product/product_id/41977/product_name/High+Speed+Metric+Left+Hand+Die+%28WT%29&update_continue_shopping=true http://www.victornet.com/tools/Left-Hand-Taps-and-Dies/326.html?gclid=CIeA4IWNw60CFUHRKgodEjPxAQ
jamesavery22 54
cncwarrior makes buying this stuff easy. Die, handle, TAT. You can get all three there.
DrThunder88 912
CNC Warrior is indeed a good place to find the tools you need to thread a muzzle and to get the devices you want to attach when you're done!
jamesavery22 54
Are they a sponsor here? Can we link to their pages?

RED333 1,025
The die that you need is adjustable so you can get the thread cut to the right depth. Cut to deep and what ever you screw on will be loose.
vindex 3
that cnc site looks good. for all three tools plus shipping, it's a good $10 to 20 cheaper than other options. thanks for the heads-up.
