shootinsurveyor 2
Has anyone chronoed Brown Bear or Tula 55gr HP ammo out of a 16" barrel. I'm trying to make a basic dope chart before I actually get some range time with it.
timy 1,185
Judging by the replies you've gotten I would say "no".
liberty -r- death 1,445
Since it is basic no frills steel case ammo that doesn't get the same accuracy as brass cases ammo, I don't think most people would bother. Most are just happy that for the price it goes bang the vast majority of the time.
shootinsurveyor 2
I'm going to mount a scope to the rifile to see what accuracy is like out to 500 or so. I know it won't be a tackdriver, but I would like to know if it will group man size at distance. It pays to know all the capabilities of what you are using so you can use them properly when needed. I also like to shoot groundhogs and don't always carry my heavy barrel 243 with me.
ironhead7544 35
I remember seeing some chrono data that showed about 2900 fps from the fmj 55gr load. I would expect about the same for the jhp. The 55gr Tula is very accurate from my WASR-3 but I havent chronoed it yet. Edited February 25, 2012 by ironhead7544
