leadsled 40
Tried searching but couldn't find a good tutorial. Want to take my extractor off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
FOURBUX 22
http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/51368-extractor-slot-fix/ Is this what you're talking about? Mike from MD arms talks about what to do about halfway down the first page...I assume you're not talking about complete removal of the extractor. That would be silly. leadsled 40
Thanks for the info. I was first thinking of swapping out the extractor spring, But this thread seems to point out some problems I sometimes have. Smoothing out that edge can only help.
Shandlanos 1,470
It's not too difficult - to disassemble your bolt, just look for pins and knock them out. If they don't go out one way, try the other way. Watch out for flying parts.
leadsled 40
I lightly filled the end of the extractor slot like in the included link. Also lightly touched the opposite side where the "fixed" extractor seats. Also noticed the area in green in the attached photo was pretty bad on mine. It was mushroomed, and I filed it so that the edges were smooth again. MD said not to touch it, but I didn't change the shape. Also put the regular recoil spring back in. Had the light one from CSS which was included with the CSS puc and MD Arms V plug. Also had Glassbolt and heavy duty op rod installed. Everything was smooth except that last 3/4". Now with the changes, just hand cycling dummy rounds feels better. I was getting random failures, several where the round was hanging on the hood. A couple of times the shell was nearly all the way in and wouldn't budge any further. Then I'd go sevearl mags fine, then a failure. Even would happen hand cycling at home. Now the dummy rounds all seem to feed well. Won't know til the next time at the range.
