macaholic 5
Is there a way to thread a Saiga-12 barrel and the step down portion in front of the thread without the use of a lathe? I know that CSS sells the factory Die set, but I want to ad the step down as well to reproduce what the factory does on their barrels. I have two SBS'd S-12's that I would like to do this to and I want to do it myself without the use of a lathe.

macaholic 5
Evlblkwpnz's post is very informative, but I was hoping that someone would have manufactured a cutting tool that cut the step down after the thread was cut. Something that uses an alignment guide similar to the one used with the die set offered by Carolina Shooting Supply. Edited June 2, 2012 by macaholic
