tatonic 159
Ever since I saw the demo on waxed slugs I've started buying shitloads of .410 and 12ga. birdshot and building them. I was concerned about them feeding in the saiga, especially after reading all the post regarding feed problems with the 410. For the record, I have never had a feed issue in six years other than trying to use 2 3/4" shells and trying out a surefire mag. The shortened waxed slugs feed as good as anything else. Today I was able to use one on a live critter, A big ass chicken snake about 4 1/2'. He was in a hen box and was in no hurry to leave. 1 round from 5' with 7and a 1/2 shot waxed, and it blew his head clean off. He was a pretty fat snake. I hate snakes but love the waxed slugs. liberty -r- death 1,445
Next time you shoot it with a wax slug take some pics if you think about it. I'd like to see how well they fly.
tatonic 159
Well what I do know, is that at 15yds a .410 waxed will punch a 5/8" hole in 1/2" plywood. I haven't tried extended ranges yet because I was too anxious to start builing them. I would expect that they are reasonablly accurate to 25yds.
