RED333 1,025
I would think Colman fuel would work as well, what you gona cast? I know silly question. I did cast some alum one time, I use a propane and a turkey frier burner. Muffen pan works well for small hunks, stacks easy and fits most pots.

RED333 1,025
I have got lead off ebay at a fair price, Cast Boolits forum as well, lots of info there. WW lead is OK but can be a bit to hard for slug, good for bulliets.

RED333 1,025
WWs that stick on are the best, stay away form the zinc, dont even put them in your pot. Zinc is very hard to get out once it is in. I have read that you use sulfer to get it out, although it maks a very bad gas as you heat it. The clamp on a clamp on WW is coated in zinc as well. Use a pair of cutters to remove as much lead as you can from the clamp, Zinc will dislove in hot lead like salt in water. WWs have other compounds that make them harder than pure lead. For shotgun slugs you want the lead as soft as possable, scratch with your finger nail is a good test. If you can scratch it it is good to go. Please be very safe in this thing you are about to do, no water, the sweat that drips off your nose WILL MAKE A MESS if it lands in the hot lead, If you were a bit closer I would give you a hands on, But TN is a bit far off. Wear cotton clothes, leather boots that go up under you pants, eye glasses are a must. Please be carefull, it is fun and can hurt you very fast.
