I apologize if this topic already been covered somewhere that I didn’t find.

 

In regards to chocks when and what types of ammo used with slug shot and witch number?

 

Best type of slug and shot to use.

Yep, this topic has been covered, but you have to go through the 410 section and read alot of post to collect it all. It's not in a single post that I'm aware of.

 

I think the chocks your asking are the plug settings.

 

#1 setting - magnum or 3" inch loads

#2 setting - 2 1/2" inch loads or 3" inch loads that wont' eject on setting #1

 

Alot of guys use the Russian brand ammo for slugs. I make my own so I can't say what the best commercial slug is. Best shot load depends on the use. If you state the intended use it would help determine which shot would be best suited for it.

+1 on the silverbear russian slugs.

I also run homemade waxed slugs useing cheap 3" #7shot.

The brenneke sabot slugs are the best, but at $8-9 for a box of 5, it is sometimes out of my budjet.

For shot, I like buckshot.
