I'm just wondering if this modification is worth the trouble??

I have an EAA Saiga 410 with no gas adjustment that shoots 3" shells only. Today I got a new model Saiga 410 gas block with the regulator included from a local gun show.

I will only shoot 3" shells from this gun. Would this modification allow me to dial the gun between slugs & birdshot like on my Saiga 12?? Or is the gas setting on the 410 only designed to switch between 2 1/2" shells & 3" shells??

I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to install the newer gas block if 3" shells are all I will shoot??

Thanks for any assistance.

I think technically the number 1 setting is for magnum (or 3" shells) and 2 is for light loads (2 1/2"). I've never seen one of the older 410s without the adjustable gas setting so I can't say for sure, but as far as slug/birdshot/buckshot goes, all 3" shells are going to have plenty enough power to operate the action. 410s are a lot different than 12ga in that reguard.

Thanks.......I got the gas block for next to nothing as part of a trade. I guess I'll just put it aside in case I need it for the future.

My 410 is fully converted and has never missed a beat whether it is with birdshot or slugs in a 4 rounder, 10 rounder or 30 round drum. I just wanted to make I wasn't missing out on something with no gas adjustment.

Thanks again.
