  1. S12s used to be $350 and everyone said they were junk. You're better off with something US made... No more saigas are coming, so...
  2. I've not been on here for a while so I don't mind answering your questions. 1 is for 3" loads, it doesn't have to be tight, just run it down and back it off to 1, if it has some wiggle back and forth that's no big deal. 2 is for light loads, a lot of people say that even light loads function fine on 1 so I wouldn't set I to two unless you had some failures. You need 2.5" mags to shoot 2.5" shells, they won't feed from a 3" mag.
  3. Here is a pic, as you can see they are way too short. It would be very unconventional to load a 255g slug, but I wonder if you could just do that. I guess it comes down to why? 45lc's ain't no cheaper than 410. I still think it would have a cool factor though : )
  4. I use 45lc snap caps in my saiga 410. They chamber and eject fine. I don't think a 45lc would have the pressure to cycle the action. Also they will not feed from the magazine (not the 3" anyway, I doubt it even in a 2.5"). The 45 shells do stack right up and slide right out of the mags though. If you were in a survival situation I'm sure you could shoot 45LCs single shot out of your saiga. I know Tony from Tromix converted a s410 to 444 marlin. With a custom 1.5" mag I think 45 lc would feed beautiful, but they still wouldn't function I don't think becomes they would be too underp
  5. Yeah, I was talking about a judge too. Right now I still think pdx is the best for both, but it's SO expensive! I saw a post about PDX410 hulls separating too. Is like to shoot a couple hundred rounds to insure their reliability but insure don't have the $$$ for that. I think a paradox choke and pdx would work good.
  6. I hope they make this in 3". If the price is right I might start carrying these instead of PDX410" http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/play;_ylt=A2KLqIIBzx9RcUAAaNH7w8QF;_ylu=X3oDMTBrc3VyamVwBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDdmlkBHZ0aWQD?p=hornady+410+triple+defense&vid=51e65b850d00909b93efdc2f178b18bb&l=1%3A17&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fts4.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DV.4622352083911035%26pid%3D15.1&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DOtdYVk4ugHc&tit=Critical+Defense®+410+Triple+Defense™+from+Hornady®&c=0&sigr=11a21oadt&&tt=b
  7. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=329677784 If you got the money, honey, he's got your mag. This would be the quickest and most sure route to get one, but who knows what the final price will be. The auction ends today.
  8. Never heard of them, so you have them local? Let us know.
  9. Yep, I'd take the magazine off and dust over and try to see what's going on/ take pictures. Safely of course. I had something similar happen when I tried to use a spent shell as a snap cap. The brass had expanded (I think it had been fired in my judge) so it didn't chamber all the way and jammed everything up, I couldn't pull the bolt back. I eventually kicked the bolt back with my foot. I wouldn't advise doing that with a live round though.

  11. I strongly recommend the winchester pdx if your going to be using the factory magazine. That's what I keep in mine, definatly best payload per trigger pull, in my opinion. 3" 000 federal handgun loads would be my second choice for home defense. They work in sgm mags. I don't agree that the 12 ga is better for home defense. If you want to shoot 000 1000 fps, you can to it with a lighter handier 410 and have less recoil. Just my opinion. 410s are good guns for home defense but very under rated/ controversial. Back in the day I guess they didn't have any good defense loads, but now they do!
  12. Yep, I think Liberty is right, mine does not have one, but I got a forend that came with one, I don't think it's neccisary or anything.
  13. I'm glad the forum is back up. This was a false alarm, it looks like a guy just advertised a 15 rounder as a 20 rounder, I was hyped though.
