Brian M1 50
I run, exclusively, SGM mags in my S223. I LOVE how tight they fit, and their tough feel (despite the lack of metal... but hey, no choice there unless using circle 10's which are unobtanainium at the moment). However.. the one thing I HATE about SGM's is the ridiculously large, plastic, and protrusive floor plates on them. Does anyone know of a METAL replacement for them? Thanks! mancat 2,368
AK-74 floorplates may work, but no guarantees. From looking at photos here, the SGM mag floorplate lips look very close to AK-74/Beryl/C10 mags. If I had an SGM mag I would test for you. http://www.k-var.com/shop/MA7-004U.html
So Low 2 13
Well just for ghits & siggles I put a circle 10 5.56 mag floorplate on my sgm 223 mag. All it takes is a few strokes with a file to round off the rear corners of the lower lip, then it will slide right on. I thinks K-Var makes US circle 10 compatible floorplates so one could get them if one were so inclined, and maintain three compliance parts. Myself although it looks clean, use magpulls to be able to yank the sgm mag out of the dang pouch, so what differance... at that point... does it make.
