Spetnaz Soldier 47
Hey guys good evening. So I just picked up some Golden Bear ammo. That stuff is trippy..never heard of brass coated steel. Any ways just wondering if any body had any experience with this stuff. Seems pretty good to me. What do you all think? mostholycerebus 415
Its the best of the cheap zoo ammo. Still not as good as modern commercial ammo. I like it for plinking.
Spetnaz Soldier 47
Ok cool. Im just trying to stray away from Tulammo ever since that squib.
GregM1 241
i have fired lots of tula with no issues. so maybe its a rare occurrence. Golden bear is good, but brown and silver bear are just as good but usually cheaper. only difference is the casing. your ak will probably eat them all without a complaint. Bigtwin 219
I too have used Tula without an issue! Spetz, do not let one odd issue turn you off from a brand of good ammo. My close friend, IE, I was there to see this, had a misfire while hunting(it cost him a nice buck), while using Nosler ammo(known for high quality) that ammo cost him $55 for 20rds, mistakes happen during production! That is life of a human. I have had no issue with Tula so far.
Spetnaz Soldier 47
Ya i guess so. Ive also shot about 30,000 rounds of tula and had one squib and about 15 hang fires. I guess thats not too bad.
GregM1 241
that is a lot of hang fires. have you looked at the primers to see if your pin is hitting deep enough? you might be getting light strikes.
Spetnaz Soldier 47
Im pretty sure its not havin light strikes since it doesnt happen very often but what would cause a light strike. my firing pin is brand new.

Rhodes1968 1,638
Squibs are not caused by light strikes. If the primer fires the firing pin has done its job. Likely no powder in the case.
