ninefall 4
Im trying to get this drum fitted. Ive filed 'A' until the drum fits up against the receiver. Ive measured the length of the mag release and Im about 1/16" away on the B fitting to get the mag release to lock in. According to the instructions that came with, this isnt very common. Any help? Id hate to take off a full 1/16" and ruin the drum.
gunfun 3,931
Have you tried more than one stick mag? - to see if the fit is the same for all of them. If the tab is long for all the mags, punch out the pin for the tab, file a bit off of the tab checking frequently, replace the pin, and make sure to stake it so that pin stays. You can plastic weld material back on the magazines, but obviously this is not the first resort. For the drum tab B fitting, make sure to keep the angle the same and check at least every couple swipes of the file. Push the tab with your finger to make sure there is not a small amount of drag holding it. That will wear in, so you want it to be pretty tight initially. You've got the right instructions. ninefall 4
I only have my factory 5 rounder to judge from but it fits perfect. I think I'm on the right path, just getting nervous because its not like its easy to just grab another drum these days. I had to leave but ill give it some more filing tonight and see what happens. Thanks
ninefall 4
Gave the B fitting some more filing and it fits like a glove! I had to take off 1/16" roughly on B to make it work.
