IndyArms 10,186
it wasn't about the money back when the annual contract for even a quarterback was barely $30k and the players had to take off-season jobs. Hmm... I wonder if Rogers would be selling INSURANCE?? ROFL!!!
Nailbomb 10,221
I was at a local watering hole casually having a beer and watching the news. Upon ordering my second, another gentleman came in and sat down a few seats away at the bar. It didn't take him long to complain that the news was "shit" and ask for some sports to be put on. I looked over and asked "did you know that the Colosseum was invented in Rome to pacify the masses and keep them from paying attention to politics?" He quietly drank his beer and watched the news with me. Why was the Colosseum built? The building of the Ancient Roman Colosseum was widely regarded as a political move of the time, intended for entertaining and, possibly more importantly, distracting Rome's population from more serious issues of the time such as oligarchy, nepotism and corruption in the senate and church (hmmm, some things don't change). Remind a few people of that while your watching the big game...
frz1197 128
I'm actually hoping for another Katrina to show up and level the whole city before that abortion of a ball game starts.
