Hold open tab in the way

Now that my Saiga 308 is in pistol grip config, the bolt hold open tab is in the way of the trigger. I've thought of a few ways to modify it, but before I get my Dermel out only to find a better way later, what's the standard way of fixing this problem?

Here's what I did: Lock the bolt open, then scribe a line on the tab about a sixteenth to eighth inch below the receiver. Remove the BHO and grind the tab down to that line. Then grind the front edge back at a 45 degree angle, reducing the horizontal length of the bottom edge of the tab by about half. Round off the rough edges, reassemble and you're done. The BHO still works and interference is virtually nil. Good luck.
