h8mtv 0
I am interested in installing a Ace stock with the "cut the tang" adaptor. Have any of you folks done this? If so a pic of the end result would be awesome. Any pointers?
Wolverine 10,360
I am interested in installing a Ace stock with the "cut the tang" adaptor. Have any of you folks done this? If so a pic of the end result would be awesome. Any pointers? Yep. Your in luck. I have pictures of a standard (external) adaptor and then the (cut the dang tang) internal block installation on the same 7.62. I like the look and feel of the internal block much better. I cut the tang off with a dremel cutting wheel and hand filed it flat/flush. Wolverine
ditchdigger 0
Agreed man! The internal block is the way to go. Just installed one a while back on my s-12 and it looks, feels, and shoots awesome. I know some people sweat cutting the tang off their reciever but the fact that ace has several different stocks that bolt right on made it an easy decision for me. Ace's shit is top quality and when I called to order he was out of the internal block but he hooked me up with people that had it in stock. Seemed like a good guy. Others might be concerned about the resale value once it's cut, if that's the case they shouldn't even take it out of the box. Personally I'd pay more for a gun with one properly installed than one without. Done right it looks factory. And it's easy to do right. Cut that bitch...you won't regret it. Sorry, no pics. G O B 3,516
If anyone cuts the dang tang and then has regrets, I have a Saiga rear trunnion from the wife's .410 conversion that is just gathering dust. May use it for a build someday, but if someone needs it, there is at least one available! G O B
h8mtv 0
If anyone has a pic of the internal before and after, or just after that would be sweet! What do you cut the tang with? Dremel?
jtoddellis 2
I used a HackSaw to cut the Tang. I used my dremmel to file it down to where my folder would open properly.
h8mtv 0
Well, I cut my tang. It looks awesome, but it is really tight to release from extended position. Hopefully it will loosen soon. I do not see any sign of rubbing or tension that isn't supposed to be.
