chapperjoe 0
Chris at AK-USA says no g due to teh end of the barrel adn how its constructed, but I see you guys have some... How does that work?
IndyArms 10,186
The vortex you refer to were CUSTOM MADE, and designed to slip over the existing sleeve, and front sight. then pinned in place. thats how. I forget who it was that made them. Rick-16, was it you?? plan to make any more .308 slip on FH's??? I would also like to ask for myself... cause I been wanting a few TOO!!!!! grizzlybigbore 0
it could also be done by drifting out the pins on the fsb, sliding it down the barrel away from the muzzle, re-drilling pin-grooves, and then threading the barrel for the appropriate measure for the vortex. waaaaayyyy more work and messing around than i want to do. IndyArms 10,186
Actually, its more work than that... as I am pretty sure the barrel is narrower under the FSB than it is just behind it... you would either need to turn the barrel down at the end to allow the FSB to slide back further, then as you are correct... new pin grooves, and a reinstall... OR you will need to ream out the FSB to fit over the larger barrel diameter, then the pin grooves and reinstall... Pain in the ass... Why couldnt Izhmash just make em with a FSB already further back, so we could just cut away the sleeve and thread?!?!?!? bastages!
