so, I did it yet again and bought ANOTHER gun for exactly 40 bucks. this one is a little less valuable than the m15 and sar1 I got for 40 a piece new (yes legally), but its still a nice littlebolt action 22lr. shoots nice too.

anyhow, the thing looks like its been in a time capsule, and has about nothing in terms of wear or rust, have some wear on the bolt from being shot a bit. the bolt handle is color case hardened, and the gun has its original sling on it still, which is a target sling from the looks of it. straps onto your arm pretty solidly. Thing that got me was the pistol grip that folds down on the front of the stock. its a great design, and I can get one hole groups with it standing at about 50 feet with iron sights when I have it slung to my arm right. the wood on it has a nice grain to it to boot. It was made in 1956 or 1957, and has not one serial number anywhere on the gun. one odd thing is im almost sure the magazine is original, but the blue book says it was shipped with a 10 round mag, and this one is 7 rounds, 8 if you load with the bolt open.

I booked it at about 150 bucks, so I guess I got a deal on it. I bought it to resell it, but Im starting to get attached to the thing. what do you guys think? did I do good? Ill post a picture of it sometime this week. its one of those guns that when I show it to people, they say "thats the gun I had when I was a kid!".

the thing is, it isnt a piece of crap. its in real nice shape for being what? 50 years old almost? I have to take a picture of it. its better than the ones ive seen out there that have been refinished.

Because it is accurate to the point where it surprised me, I might take it over to numrich this week when I run over there to find parts for some old guns a friend of mine pulled out of the garbage that have no bolts in them. I have to look for a part for cobra too, while im here, now that I think about it. HOPEFULLY the peep sights for the more deluxe models will fit on the back of the reciever where there are two screws doing absolutely nothing. the thing is that accurate that it warrants a peep sight or scope even.
