I have never bought a scope that didn't come with usable rings...until now. My posp took a dump and I decided to buy American. I got a Burris 3-9x40 and a UTG side mount( the one with the rail on the top and on the side too) for my Saiga 308 with a wood stock. What size rings do I need? Or atleast how do I measure first so I only have to buy one set?

I gotta chinese with the 20 rnd fixed star mag and I use the stripper clips to load it and it is fast, easy, and I can bring 1000 rnds loaded (on strippers) and ready to go to the range. The strippers are as fast and maybe faster than the mags. -
ED's RED is a great cleaner, solvent, lube for your saiga and all your guns. It is cheap to make and will work on any gun. I use it on my saiga-308, ruger 10/22, SA XD-9, Baretta AL391 auto shotgun, sks, and all my other guns. I would use it on any gun I owned. here is the recipe: Ed's Red

I wish I could help but my posp is the best thing since .... vodka(looking for a russian staple) I also had to tighten the cam adjuster a little bit. My scope will hold it's zero after repeated off and ons. even with the scope a little off centerline you shouldn't have more than an inch difference at the ranges you are talking about. Find a local gun guru to lay hands on it to see if he can heal it( or at least tell you how to fix it)

I have two eaa mags, both converted to ten rnds. I had one with the gun and bought one later, new in wrapper. The newer one I had to cut the spring along with the follower and base posts. The first one's spring was fine. I also found it helpful, in finding how much to cut off the follower, to turn the mag upside down(unassymbled) and load ten rnds into it and put the follower inplace. Both my followers are cut to where the little guide tabs on the sides are about 1/4" long. The springs are about 14" at the longest point. The base posts are cut to 7/8" including the bottom ogf that plate(
