b_r 2
I have a folding stock on my UK spec Vepr 12. It is locked in the open position to comply with UK overall length requirements. Not sure how its locked as it seems fine outside but the catch wont move. Anyway, I am running mine on a ghost ring sight and find that the cheekpiece raised is a little high ( although useable as long as you really push your cheek into it ) and uncomfortable without it raised. So, I am considering a simple AK polymer stock instead. Looking at the rear of the receiver - the folder seems to be a part of the rear trunnion. The rear trunnion is fixed to the receiver with several rivets. When swapping out the stock, is the entire trunnion removed ? Is the folder trunnion different to the regular stock trunnion ? Thor's Hammer 33
Your RPK type folder trunnion is entirely different than the AKM fixed stock trunnion. Not a feasible option at all. Your best bet is to source an AR15 style Molot folder adapter and install that, but only if you can do so within your UK laws.
b_r 2
I think I will leave it as it is - too expensive and to hard to change. And it does work. Thanks for the input. Edited October 27, 2013 by b_r
