JWH223 2
I have been here for a long time, but mostly just reading. I am new to the 1919 and purchased one today, will have it sometime this weekend. Is the outside diameter of the barrel the same diameter at the muzzle as it is back to the 14"-18" mark? Is that diameter the correct diameter (probably not exactly......) for threading M22X.75 RH? Thinking of how much work would be involved to shorten to 18.25" and thread, or even shorter and permanently attach a brake for total of 18.25". I realize it would be a lot of work for only reducing the length by approximately 1.5", but would like to get info. I know there would be no choke after reducing the length. Thanks! rockmup 12
They are smaller at the gas block and larger at the muzzle. I don't remember the size right off hand
JWH223 2
I had a buddy measure one and the diameter at approximately where I would shorten it to was within the range between .866" - .886" which says will work with the Die I was looking at. Thank you.
rockmup 12
Thats .020 difference. You sure ? You might end up with some real sloppy threads
JWH223 2
I agree, just stating what it says on the one website that sells the Die. http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/die-s12.htm
JWH223 2
Just received my MKA 1919 Pre-XN model. Is the OD of the barrel supposed to be larger for the last approximate 6"? OD for the last 6" = 0.880" OD closer to the gasblock = 0.832" Sorry if this is a stupid question:) Edited January 8, 2014 by JWH223
