David Mark 2,452
A good buddy of mine was cleaning out his basement and asked me if I wanted this. Hell yes! 4.2 inch M2 Mortar rounds box. On the top it reads: Ammunition for cannon with explosive projectile Gonna clean it up a little bit. Should look good sitting on top of my safe.
XD45 7,124
We used to break those up and burn them for firewood. Sure do wish I'd kept some. Also wish I'd snagged a dozen more 50cal cans.
Matthew Hopkins 1,065
I got like 6 or 7 in my basement now. I used them when I was in the Army to pack up my TCs, FMs, TMs, GTAs etc... when I packed up my households goods on PCS moves, as that wasn't counted toward my authorized weight
Capt Nemo 882
The pallets of those things I've sold over the years! Miss the good old days of the property disposal retail store at Ft. McCoy. Used to buy em for $1 each and dump them at gun shows for $5. Always sold out! .30 cal cans were the same price in pallets of 200. 50's were a bit more, and hard to get. (Graham Rudman back then cutting into ammo use) Do be careful burning them! The preservative in the wood can be nasty. Dioxins are not you're friend! Another nice crate is the Yugo M67 crates...some nice looking wood in the open one I have. Might sand it down and finish with stain, varnish, and flat black paint on the metal pieces.
