The second I saw the Rock N Lock, I wondered the same. I can save you the trouble! I am waiting for mine to come for this VERY reason. I agree it looks better than the evilblkwpnz mod (marginally), but I am going to shave mine slightly IF it works, anyway. If not, I am going to make my own mod, which is sort of evil's mod, only from the inside. I should have my Rock N Lock in a few days, and will post results ASAP! I feel it's a tad overpriced for our purposes (convert to saiga mags/drums), but the design will allow conversion without removal of the grip, so it appears. It will require drilling, and will not allow for the mag well to be reinstalled on the gun wihthout removal. I have a few mods of my own in mind, one is CHEAP to make. So cheap, if I have 100 pcs made, it's only going to cost $7 or &8 PER adapter, and that is WITH mounting hardware. The best part is, it will be blued steel, and will not look like dick. The biggest issue, IMO, is keeping a "stock" appearance. The Rock N Lock is pretty large, too, and is sort of a sore thumb. Evil's mod may look ugly in the white, but it's got to be at least as thick as a dime, or it will be able to bend when the magazine is rocked fore and aft. I fashioned a small adapter using part of a door hinge, thinner than evil's, from basically flat steel. Then I tacked a lip on similar to Evil's. It works, but is about 1/32 too thin, and still flexes slightly if you tug on the mag. I DON'T want to bend my receiver up on this shotgun, so I'm experimenting with several options. So far, however, Evil's angle-iron adapter is as close to perfect in terms of strength and fitment as I've seen. And KUDOS to him for sharing it with us and not trying to keep the information to himself! -SF Edited July 29, 2014 by slamfyre

slamfyre 2
50 bucks is kind of a lot but if it just bolts on where the old magwell mounted then id be game for it let us know how it works I agree. I'm not too worried about the "rock/lock" feature, either. If I need more than 20 rounds...I'm in a heap of poo, anyway. Aside from cost, my main concern with the Rock N Lock is the mounting hole. It appears it may need to be tapped-in right at the edge of the lip we are attempting to fill using this mod on a VEPR. I don't want to drill right against the edge of that lip, and that's why Evil's design seems superior in this application. My design is similar, but from a stamped sheet of 1.5mm steel, and it mounts inside. If the rock and lock works, I will probably skip trying to manufacture my own. If not, there will be a cheap, easy mod on the market by September. Fingers X'd for the Rock N Lock. Will advise ASAP on my findings.
