JDeko 792
After over a year I'm finally on the verge of fully converting my S12 to full AK configuration with all wood furniture. I previously bought two metal clasp hooks [like one would use for a dog leash] to attach the nylon straps of the sling as to avoid fraying said nylon. However I've notice that the front clasp has begun to dent my forearm and I fear that once I've converted to the pistol grip config the back clasp will dent the grip. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice as to things I might do, up to and including just wrapping the nylon straps right in if they won't get worn out too fast. As much as I don't want to ding up my wood with the clasps I also don't want to drop 1800 dollars worth of wood and shotgun because a 20 dollar strap tore. Thank you, as always, for your time and advice.
gunfun 3,931
If you use classic sling hardware, your wood will get chewed up. No way around it other than using tied on fasteners or something else non metallic. i.e. those chinese canvas slings that are folded through the loops.
Sim_Player 1,939
SKS Sling with leather connections. $10 SHTF, wrap the "rattlers" in tape or wrap in cord/cloth.
