gunfun 3,931 Posted November 12, 2012 Report Thoughts? How would you compare this to LCP or TCP? Quote Link to comment
YOT 3,743 Posted November 12, 2012 Report I don't know about the TCP. I did look at it and the angle of the trigger guard was not appealing to my eye. I did a direct comparison to the LCP. I fell in love with the BG because of 1) it's hammer fired DAO, 2) thumb safety, 3) carry one in the pipe and the trigger can't be pulled with the safety on, 4) the built-in laser that I can actually reach with my finger, 5) drift adjustable sights with a serrated ramp front sight [that are actual sights instead of bumps], 6) automatic last round slide hold open, 7) disassembly lever [no tools needed like LCP]. And lastly, it's a Smith & Wesson. It was less than $400 OTD including tax. The trigger is a long pull, but not as long as the LCP. Quote Link to comment
gunfun 3,931 Posted December 2, 2012 Report I really don't like the trigger on LCP. It breaks in a very awkward position for me. The TCP breaks about .25" earlier, and is much smoother, which is the primary reason I have been looking at it over the ruger. Then S&W has to complicate things by making a nice offering. I know I would want a laser on whichever I got for such a small sight radius. That's kind of a wash to me with the S&W though, because crimson trace has a nicer button location. Further if the laser on the bodygaurd dies, you're screwed. Maybe a summer job will let me come to a conclusion about which of these is the one to buy. Quote Link to comment
YOT 3,743 Posted December 3, 2012 Report Further if the laser on the bodygaurd dies, you're screwed. Why is that? The BG has great sights, and the "Insight Laser" pops right out after removing the slide assembly and one screw. Batteries are a quick change. The Insight Laser is covered by the same warranty as the rest of the gun, too. Quote Link to comment
