  1. Thanks guys, bent the spring and the problem was solved. Thanks for the info.
  2. Thanks for the help everyone! This was the issue, and I bent the spring accordingly. This forum is awesome. On another note, how does one go about getting rid of the slop in the trigger (side to side). A washer or a cotter pin? What size?
  3. Hi all. I am in the middle of a 308 conversion. I got a complete conversion from CSS. Almost everything is done and I am reassembling the FCG. When the rifle is almost complete with the trigger/spring/hammer and retaining plate, during function checks the leg on the right side of the spring moves from the rear of the trigger (where its supposed to be) and falls inside of the trigger group. The spring is the factory one, and the rifle only has one "hook" in the receiver. This causes malfunctions and the trigger will not reset/clear with it falling in there. I know I am installing it rig

  5. This is my RAA saiga 7.62x39. I bought it just for fun while i was off in idaho working in the summer. I knew it would go bang even if i beat the piss out of it. It was perfect to throw it on my back and hike or target shoot. I put the tri rail mount on it and some cheap b-pod that worked great. It blasted a few varmit perfectly with the iron sights, and it was surprisingly accurate right out of the box! I was happy! its always nice to hit what you are pointing at. I also had a red dot mounted on it with a cheap rail from ctd. But i took that off cause it didnt prove very functional. http
  6. there was an interesting article in american rifleman this month about a secret project to sabatoge ak rounds during vietnam and have them explode in the rifle! Kinda reminded me of that. That sucks though..
  7. Thanks for the info desert dog...I agree with you that the little 10 rounders will look goofy but hey what can you do. And it is a great idea to start the 10 day wait now...I will try to get in before the rifle comes so I dont have to wait as long. Thanks for the reminder soundwave!
  8. Hi all, im new to the forums and am happy to find a cool group out there on the net. So, I bought a Saiga x39 with a 20 inch barrel from NY the other day, and it should be arriving here in Cali. any day so i can start my ten day. My plan is to theme the rifle after a RPD or a similar support rifle etc, keeping in mind the laws in Cali. of course.I bought a tri rail barrel clamp so i can mount a bi-pod, and a side mount double rail system for some kind of optic or rear sights. I went with the 20 inch barrel becuase i want it to have that heavy look, feel and function. I want to figure out a way
  9. it's definitely a good idea. Yah my buddy bought a romanian ak and on inspecting the bore there was a big piece of steel lodged in the barrel.... YIKES!! needless to say he took it out before he ran about 700 rounds through it without cleaning it....
