  1. I reused the original trigger guard for my 308 conversion. It seems to work very well and it isn't welded or anything. the front sits snugly under the mag catch and the rear (after some trimming) is held by the slot in the pistol grip as well as clamped by the pistol grip if that makes any sense. Feels very secure, I can't make it wiggle.
  2. I just put mine from dinzag in and it was super easy. The only parts that slowed me down were figuring out where the e-clips went (inside the reciever on the left) and that the spacer washer was supposed to sit next to the trigger in the trigger hole. The e-clips are easier with some needle nose pliers to put them in place and a punch to push them on.
  3. I've heard of that but this is a different problem. Sometimes the bolt is leaving a long, deep gash in the topmost round in the mag.
  4. I've only put about 10 or so rounds through my Saiga 308 and had 2 rounds significantly gouged. I assume it's caused by the small locking lug hitting the next round in the magazine. I've heard that this would happen with some of the 308 rifles. My questions are; 1. is this correctable by breaking in the rifle? 2. I'll be doing a conversion shortly, will this solve the problem? 3. If not, what exactly do I need to do to make this problem go away? Any advice is appreciated. Detailed advice even more appreciated-Tom
  5. I know there hasn't been activity in this thread for awhile. I just checked the new site and although they list Saiga as a magazine option nothing shows up. Are they still making mags for the .308? If not surefire is my only hicap option right? Just found out the answer to my question, they're still in business. The website is giving them fits. You can order them by calling them.
