What happened?? I like them due to the fact that they have a last round BHO feature. I'm just worried about the fact that they appear to be possibly fragile!
-
I've heard anecdotal evidence that they may not survive drops fully loaded. I'm specifically referring to the polymer mags. Has anyone performed any reliability tests on them?

How much they rape you??

Shut the front door! Noway...

Dude, not sure when you last checked there - but they are out of most bulk ammo. All they have is that old yugo crap, in addition to the expensive brass cased stuff... -

Meh - I just went to Cabellas and bought some Wolf softpoint. Its on backorder, however I locked the price in at least..... -
I went to Ammunition to go a day or two ago. I visit virtually every day. The other day I saw they got some Golden Tiger 7.62 in stock. I checked back today to see about getting some - ITS ALL GONE!!! Same now with Ammo4guns as well - they HAD golden tiger, but now are sold out!!! DAMMMMMMIT!!! I can't find any ANYWHERE (for a fair price).

Interesting.... Wonder how the surefire mags would stand up. Esp considering the high price of $40 a pop for the 30 rounders....

Google sells rifles now?? Cool!!!!
-
Good reply - thanks! I was thinking specifically of what you discussed - the extractor, bolt, etc. Since they are different - where would one get replacements / spares (besides another saiga)?
-
fuck - no one seems to have any in stock except the gunbroker con artists....

question on this front site block
opto_isolator replied to devildogdakota's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
yes - it will fit the 7.62 - I just installed the exact same one on my rifle....Its a tight fit, and may not need the set screw. -
Just curious, since I've heard that bolts or firing pins may have issues sometimes. I know the AK platform is simple stupid, and very robust - but I was just curious to know if anyone has ever had to replace anything....

Anyone know what typically is the weakest point on an AK? What are some good backup parts to have in case of failure???
-
Well, I done did it. I bought the wrong muzzle brake: http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/viewPrd...mp;idcategory=2 Little did I realize that this is threaded 14x1, and this: http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.php?main...;products_id=52 is the standard 24x1 thread. DOH! So I am wondering - is there any sort of ADAPTER that I can buy that will convert 24x1 to 14x1???
-
Wow, just checked out all of the usual suspects and EVERYONE is out of saigas (except gun broker)!!!! Fucking crazy!!

I've seen a lot of good things posted about the moly resin. I just have a few questions that maybe someone could answer? I've noticed that an area that typically wears on most AK's is the area under the safety lever. Will moly resin cure this? I've always hated that damn line that the safety creates dragging on the metal surface. Also - is moly resin something that can be used on internals? Thanks!

Cast / set-screw FSB?! Seems too good to be true...
opto_isolator replied to opto_isolator's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
OK - I found a thread where some people bought this. However, if I go this route, I am confused as to which compensator lock pin / spring combo I need. http://www.k-var.com/shop/home.php?cat=303 K-var sells a LOT! The other option is to get the one from aa-ok: http://www.aa-ok.com/sections/89-ak-front-sights Anyone care to point me in the correct direction? I'm guessing that the FSB that aa-ok sells is the same as the one that akpartskits.com sells? -
http://akpartskits.com/cart/index.php?main...;products_id=52 Check this out! Its a "cast set screw" version of the Bulgarian FSB that K-Var sells. Has anyone tried this?? It seems like quite a great deal considering the cost difference between this and the press on version.

It only took about 20-30 min max to get my FSB off. I was completely surprised!! I used MAPP gas, heated up the FSB and tried prying it to break it loose. That didn't work, so I moved to the ol' Dremel and chisel. They worked like a charm! I was surprised as to how easy it came off (destructively, mind you!). Now onto the fun part of installing a new FSB! Any ideas as to how to align the new FSB??

One word - Ultimak!

I have an EOTech mounted on my Siaga 7.62. Its on the ultimak, so its mounted forward. I was thinking of getting a magnifier for it - but considering that its mounted so far forward, I'm wondering if my eye will be too far away for it to work. Any ideas?? I am also considering one of the clones from fleabay, since the price would be much better.
