Yes, CTD increased their prices to above list price. I don't see a problem with that. Demand outstripped supply for the time being, so it could've been $100 for 20 rounds and I would still feel similarly. Is there something else I missed in the pic? You have a right to be pissed off at them and boycott, but for me they were just being good capitalists so I'll buy what you don't.

There is no such thing as "price gouging". There is only a reflection of the market. Whether the demand was artificial because of Bam Bam or not, it was short term and it resulted in short term price jumps. The only people pissed off are the morons who paid $800 for an AK, likely the same people who overpaid for real estate as well in the 2003-2005 timeframe.

Cool, thanks! In order to get the fsb and gb off, are the cuts I've made suitable? I cut the side and the bottom, but not to the barrel yet. Is the position of the cut for the sleeve good? (immediately in front of fsb)

Doing a conversion since last year, not rushing it. Just haven't found the time to fix up the front end. Here's a picture of the sleeve I'm trying to remove as I cut around the end. It's still not coming out even if I tap with a screwdriver and mallet. Any advice?

That's nice to know, thanks, but it's a hell of a lot easier to use a sleeve in order to put in my BHO without having to simultaneously push down on the disconnector and push in the axis pin. Guess unless I find something similar at HD or Lowes, looks like I should get another G2 kit.

What's the path of least resistance, cost wise? I have an extra ak74 fsb lying around just beggin' to be used. To those who've had someone turn down the barrel, what's the typical cost? Can it be f'ed up easily by a bad smith? I thought the barrel can only be threaded for 17x1 as opposed to 14x1, but someone has just said they can get a muzzle attachment. I also have a jtac compensator for 14x1 I could use if that would work.

Is the BHO worth putting in? Does it hold the bolt right at or forward of the point of contact with the surefire mags? Just wanted to see what it will save me in terms of mag changing ease.

I used a krebs retaining plate from carolina shooters supply. Works perfectly although I really had to jam it in there to make it fit. A little more challenging than my SA-85 or my Arsenal sgl31 when I replaced those FCGs.

I have an arsenal two stage FCG hammer and just wanted to find out how much I should chew off of it with a dremel to be good to go? Should I just stick with the stock hammer since I have enough parts to be compliant with US mag, pistol grip, trigger, disconnector and buttstock?

I know about these two pins above the trigger from my x39. My 308 neither has the holes nor the pins.

How the hell do you get this sucker off? Had enough problems with the buttstock, had to use an impact driver and beat it with a mallet to get it off.

Anyone get an adjustable AK peep sight? I found one on cheaperthandirt for $20 and while I consider it blasphemy on a standard 7.62 old school AK, I think I can live with it on a non-standard 308 caliber, as a backup for my POSP scope.

I was able to put my POSP scope on my sgl31 (5.45) along with a Bushnell red dot on a ultimak rail that allows me to co-witness with the iron sights. The red dot is mostly obstructed but not the dot itself. The POSP's ultimate home is on my incoming 308 though.
