Read all about Appleseed Some of the best rifle marksmanship training you can get, certainly for the price. They have shoots all over the country, organized and training all done by volunteers. And its a lot of fun. I just did a shoot last weekend in Boulder City, NV and it was a great time. There were a little over 40 shooters split into two shooting bays. One bay was all rimfire rifles and the other was a mixture of centerfires. I think there was one AK in the mix. I was shooting on the rimfire side so I can't tell you exactly what the breakdown was on the other side.

Actually its a sea of Ruger 1022's these days. While they train you to make hits out to 500 meters, Most, if not all of the training is done at 25 meters (depends on the range) so a rimfire rifle works fine and with the money you save shooting 22lr, you can just about buy a new 1022 for the shoot. I highly recommend going to an Appleseed with whatever rifle you have. Its great training and a lot of fun.
