  1. I just got done shooting my s12 yesterday and noticed while cleaning mine has a wiggle in it. Factory part, I never noticed this before. What should I do? I'm guessing thats not normal.
  2. I finally decided to convert my saiga 12. I consider myself handy but never had any experience with gunsmithing. Overall it went well maybe 3-4 hrs of work. I thank CSS for the informative videos, great pricing and quick shipping also to the others who post their step-by-step conversions. You guys really gave me the confidence to do this myself. So I guess the only thing I have to do is go shoot it. The gun was rock solid before so I expect the same. I really like the balance and feel now not as cumbersome as before. Heres some quick Before and After pics: Before After
  3. Cool! the old Gun world? I look forward to that. Drive prolly the same for me but itll be nice having another option.
  4. Yea gats doesnt allow shottys or rifles above 22 in the range. Not sure if I should post the name of the place but its in DP, it may actually be unincorporated. They sell AR's for sure because I was looking at them, not dead positive on the AK's. A old friend of mine used to shoot his AR there he still might I have lost touch with him, hes the one that told me about it. Maybe your right on that they dont care or enforce because I had conversations with the guys with my saiga laying on the table next to us and nothing was said. I am going to get a quote tomorrow on getting my saiga converted (d
  5. Curious, I live in Kane and shoot my saiga12 in Cook County. Is it just in Chicago or all of Cook? I have the fake conversion, does that mean I am shooting it illegally? I plan on getting the real conversion done but maybe not, if that's the case. Oh and the reason I shoot in cook is because there is no ranges by me that allow rifles or shotguns by me. Closest is that one and the next one is in Wisconsin that is more than an hour away. Shame on me for not knowing the law on this but I just thought it had to be 922R compliant. Next thing is how can the gun stores in Cook sell AR's AK's and pist
  6. The only one I know where you can shoot your Saiga is Maxons in Des Plaines. Its about an hr drive for me (Elgin area).
  7. Thanks for your help, I think I may just take the grip off and bring to the gunshop and compare.
  8. Will all AK style grips work with the Tapco Intrafuse Saiga T6 Stock System for my Saiga-12? I want to get something better than what it came with, maybe something neoprene. Just dont want to spend the money and time to find out that nothing fits. If not does anybody have any suggestions or know of any grips that will work?
  9. Good advice, I had a tough time putting it back in myself. I had to walk away a few times.
  10. Solid or folder? we're kinda crazy around here sometimes...we got guys who shoot up vans, this old cheerleader guy and a couple of loose screws kick back, have a cold one and hang round a bit I got the solid one
  11. Thanks guys, waiting on my tapco stock to arrive this week.
