  1. Thanks.

Already done. I just took the pictures before painting, so that the contrast would make it easier to see. Painted, it looks as though it was installed at factory. I am sure that people who are not already familiar with kalashnikovs would assume that the factory put it there. My cousin has a stamped and welded one with a curved tab. That is more comfortable, but would be difficult to execute.

Come to think of it, what is the factory's excuse for not putting one on every AK? It is such a clear improvement at effectively no cost.

It also serves as a good comfortable place to rest your trigger finger between shots. That promotes good safety, and naturally reminds you to take the safety off before attempting to fire. It is pretty easy to flick the safety off while shouldering as you aim at a clay. Resetting the safety is also very natural and easy.

  2. They do look nice. I've got a practical plus that I switched out some stuff on. I wish you could get proper European style swords to the standards of quality and price of the Hanwei swords, even if they are really only up to light cutting.

Have you made that fuller whistle yet? (Or Bo Hi if you that makes you feel better.)

  3. I'ts a sloth. When I worked in the felony division of the prosecutor's office, we had a bunch of beanie babies to give to kids. (hint, kids who are being interviewed in the felony division are not having happy experiences) We each kept at least one at our desk to give to the kids and sort of as a personal mascot/avatar. I figured the sloth would fit me.

  4. I made mine from a solid piece of 3/4" plate. The angle is my own... between the 90 and the 45 frame.

To me, a very short length of pull is comfortable and desirable for practical reasons. if the action is closer to your shoulder, the natural orientation of your wrist changes. Angel got it right when they designed their guns around a massive tank, then Automags came with the Z and Y grips to match other shouldering positions. With firearms, recoil management dictates a certain amount of your posture too. I have found that I like very vertical grips on several guns, including a S&W target .22 I own, so since I was personalizing my gun, why not choos an angle most comfortable to me.

I wanted it to be comfortable whether shouldtered or held riot gun style, so completely vertical wouldn't work. As it is now, angel grips won't work because of the angles and contours.
