  1. I've looked over the process and while I might not end up with a box full of parts, its something that should be done by someone who knows what they're doing or mechanical aptitude. Plus if I found out I could would hate myself for not having a dozen Romanian G models and Yugo M-92 Krinks on homebuilt frames and cera-koted with drums and ammo stashed in PVC tubes buried in a cave somewhere. Wasn't that long ago those Romanian kits were like 80. Would suck to know I could have made them, 922r compliant, semi-only of course
  2. Does anyone make a foreend similar to the AMD-63/65 for the Saiga? Something light, minimalist, and takes a SAW VFG (not put on backwards though, heh). Also, in the day you had these AR's that had the Commando barrel but permanantly affixed flash or comp, which came out to a non-SBR 16" barrel (they also had slip over versions for cosmetic effect but 16" ballistics), and some of the Mossberg goofy front ends do the same thing. Since there are SBS that come directly from Izhmash and acclaimed domestic smiths, don't think there would be a reliability issue with a shorter bore...but the dyna
  3. Great post. I've been trying to figure out a .308 ever since reading Boston's Gun Bible a few years back, never wanted one before that, ever sense, I sorta feel naked till I get one. The learned muscle memory, I'm living proof. Always had Mini 14's while wishing it was a AR180 or FNC or AUG or something. While I had settled for it, got so much trigger time on one that I'd take one over any AK or AR out there. a Sig 556 Classic or MSAR have enough good points to try something new if I could, otherwise in a .223 gimme the new 16" Mini with Hogue stock and GB flash hider and jungle sight. Cool or
  4. Actually, lemme get the plastic S-12 with the buttpad if you still have it. The idea in the first place was something to shorten OAL, but I'd be happier with some cushioning (the only thing I could do is add an ugly ass rubber slip on) and not having to cobble the wood rifle stock on.
  5. I want the wood one but to put on a 12 gauge, would that fly? Or just take some fitting to match the different lower or maybe the comb would need to come down a little to see the shotgun's lower mounted sights? If you still have it LMK. Just what I've been looking for to saw halfway down but would leave that as is, after a sanding and black krylon touchup to match the rest of the gun, much as I love the look of wood on a EBR. Maybe will have to carve a few notches to keep it sinister looking while it waits for conversion...
  6. Not sure how mags this big were intended to be carried (have read about custom Kydex Molle pouches). I have to say I love these bags (AKA "Active Shooter", "Battle Bag" "Rifle Fighting Bag" etc). They're actually old school Kalashnikov. Those Soviet ones are more primitive and basic. Always liked these and planned to get one for a different gun, If I hated them man there is just no other way to carry around a quantity of 12 round, 12 gauge mags. Right now I have 2 12's, the Russian 5 it came with. Looking to pick up at least one of the clear 12 Rd. Surefires(for coolness yeah but also quick ID
  7. Thanks bud, I'll get at him right now. Wood would be perfect, should have been my first thought.
  8. Just wondering if anyone makes a stock similar to what comes on the imports, but with a slightly shorter LOP. Something more robust. Say 11-12" including a (good) recoil pad. A couple inches off the back and a more user friendly design would be nice to tide me over till a real conversion happens, and I actually like the feel better of a conventional stock vs. a pistol grip/stock. But it is a Saiga. I love bullpups and got all excited when I heard about the Kushnapup. A mag fed High Standard 10B, the thought of having one with the purchase of a stock/kit was exciting. Till I saw it. Aesthe
  9. I love the covert idea like Keyboard cases, it just saves a lot of hassle, big guiitar case with a bunch of metal band stickers all over it would HAVE to have just a guitar in it. Been a long time since anyone rented 'Desperado', lol. I've thought about aluminum when I had money to just never found the right size for what I wanted. Now this Ace has to be one of the best i've ever seen just for taking the Surefire tallboys, and is semi covert, doesn't scream gun to a layman like the old school tapered with no external pockets and whatnot. I've been eyeing the BH Dual rifle case for a while, not
  10. looks like a new edition of BGB came out under my nose...best gun book EVER. DSAs are are made in Barrington IL where federal blood was spilled by a lone wolf Patriot (at least to a Belgian American crime buff)DSAs are reputedly better than Belgian FN real ones Don't dump it just add to the hoard
  11. There was this FBMG ad, joke probably but reality most likely to anyone with the paper and interested, for this "zombie loadout" I found online bout a year ago offering 2 packages, primary weapons Saiga coversions either .308 or 12 gauge. Now my EOTWAWKI wet dream has been a Socom 16, Sig 556 Classic, and 930 SPX or M2 Tac depending on funds plus handguns and rimfires, for quite a while. I had bought a S-12 and 2 Surefire 12's on a whim one day with a back burner intent on converting such...the day I bought a pristine Python also fondled a 16" S-308 and promised the owner I'd be back for that
