i had a plan in my head for a while to make a two piece shroud that incorporated a poly-choke into the shroud itself. But I don't have the metalwork know how or tools to do it.

I used an ergo AK grip from MAA. I had to file out a bit of the top for the bar behind the nut on the DIY but after that it fit fine...

I can just now attest to that... Ordered a Polychoke II, NATO length ak stock, Gunfixr plug, and reduced recoil and main springs at about 11 pm last Monday night. Reading this thread made me check the status on my order and apparently it was delivered to my apartment complex this morning I ordered a new motherboard for my computer off Amazon last Friday using UPS and it's not scheduled to be here til the 21st!

Anybody have any suggestions that will work well for hunting or skeet shooting?

Yeah that's what I did... It happened the day I converted it (which was my first conversion) so I was kinda worried I fucked something up... I bent it but it happened again a few shots later so I bent it some more but I haven't been able to get out to a range yet. I was also wondering if anyone had the same problem with single wire springs instead of the OEM twisted ones...

Well I just took my new S-12 out shooting the other day and I had a few problems. I was getting some FTEs but I was expecting that since the gun shop I bought it from was out of high brass and I didn't feel like driving back to town. But I had a different problem after I finished the conversion. When I went out to shoot the second time I had some high brass. But one of the hammer spring legs kept sliding over into the gap in the trigger so it wouldn't reset. Anybody else get this problem? Anyone know how to fix it without replacing the spring? Well, today I ordered my first Saiga 12 (and first gun since I started getting delayed through NCIS) and it should be in by next Friday... I ordered the tromix FCG and DIY trigger guard along with an ak ergo grip and ak style stock which should be in next Tuesday, so it'll be delivered, shot, converted, and shot again all in two days hopefully. Is there anything I should know about the gun or conversion process to make all this go over smoothly? I've been reading up as much as I can in the past few weeks about the process and break in periods etc... one thing I've worried about is the BHO...
