  1. Well thats a little bit of peace of mind. Thanks!
  2. Love the site so far guys, thanks for the expertise and the information! My S12 had been cycling light loads, some buckshot loads, and slugs no problem, factory gas plug, setting 2. Last time I was shooting it, I decided to fire some 2 3/4 and 3" magnum loads. I made the noobish mistake of not cranking the gas plug back to 1 before I did this. The third round blew the front of the dust cover off, and got all kinds of unpleasant things in my eye. So my questions are these: 1. I assume this only happened because I didn't adjust the gas system. Have you heard of this before, or d
  3. I only have one Saiga-12. Just converted it about a week and a half ago. Anyway, so I don't know much about different S12 'variants' I have seen people mention that they have a '3 hole' S12 or a '4 hole' S12. I assume this has something to do with the gas system, but could someone enlighten me as to exactly what this is referring to? Thanks!
  4. First post, first conversion. I need some better pics of it... sorry this one was in my basement. But I love it all the same!
  5. Me likey my Saiga
  6. That's kinda what I was going for too. How do you retain the top? Or does it just float around? And welcome to the sight. What do you have there, a Saiga perhaps? Actually no mine is just a Romanian WASR-10... but my next gun will be a Saiga shotgun [even named one of my cats Saiga]... As far as retaining the top... the only retention right now is my having taken the snap-on strap and wrapping it around the bolt... the top just kind of floats around. I could use a velcro cable tie I suppose but at present its just flops and you kind of have to walk like a pirate.
  7. You could also, if you want to be cheap and easy [the drill holster is a better idea though] do what I did and just take scissors to the back of a drop-leg pistol holster to open it up. Yes, it is useless Yes, it is not going to do much good if it actually needs to be drawn. but the kind of events I go to usually involve at least 10 other armed people and security is not really a concern... its the kind of thing you do specifically because its absurd.
