  1. That one is available at Atlantic right?
  2. Ok, I just read a lot here that said 3" isn't good for it. If that's not the case then the auto plug it is for sure.
  3. Oh, while trying to avoid the buffer as long as possible, is there even a plug that will allow me to moderate my gas?
  4. Oh, to cover that gap, I made sure to get crap in there, I let it marinate. It functioned for 2 mags then must have become overwhelmed. About the autoplug, I hear it isn't recommended for use with 3" shells, and I use LOTS of 3" shells, so I think a V-plug or something manually adjustable will have to do.
  5. Yes, would that make a big differencer?
  6. It didn't gum up from the gas ports, they were fine. It was so much mud and carbon and grease gunking the recoil spring. It was difficult even pulling the carrier back enough to chuck a shell. Now comes the spray can blasting of the entire gun.
  7. My bad, bulk pack bought at walmart.
  8. Well I took it out yesterday to see what's up. It ran good, but I decided to throw it in the mud for the 3rd time without cleaning it ever (emphasis on ever) and I actually got it to gum up with birdshot. So 300 walmart bulk, + assorted high brass, + being thrown in the mud every 100 rounds and getting extraordinarily dirty every time WILL slow a S12 down. But not with buckshot.
  9. Yes, I would like to know as well, and would they be durable?
  10. I should have specified Walmart bulk pack. I'm going to take it out another time to see what it does.
  11. My recent conversion went well with my gun handling Federal birdshot like a boss with over 400 shells through it with zero malfunctions. The only FTE I had was in the first mag when I had it set to 1. But having it set to 1 for some slugs, I forgot to change it back to 2, and it ran 100% from the shoulder. Then messing around me and my buddy were hip shooting it. Realizing it was running from the hip I bumped it for 2 mags with zero failures. Can I contribute this to a break in period? Or is my gun horribly overgassed? My last S12 never achieved this kind of reliability with many many
  12. Too bad you don't live in Washington, I just bought my EAA 2 months ago from a shop for $649. And they have a metric poop ton more.
  13. Kind sir, I am interested in your machine
  14. Well, I hope that isn't the case, seeing as how I just pounded on my gun. Haha, whatever, it seems to have worked.
  15. Alright, it's mostly straight now. I kinda overshot it a little the first time, so there was sopme trial and error for a minute or two. But woo!
  16. Just looked into the gas block and you can even see the ports are off center in the opening. Sadly, I don't have a vise, so it's going to have to wait til later. Thanks for the fast responses too guys. Too bad, I just have a left handed monkey.
  17. Didn't even think about the gas block. I would post pics but sadly I have no camera, I used the money on this gun. I think you are right about the gas block. You say I can possibly fix it with a mallet? I don't have the cash to send it and my tools consist of hammer and screwdriver.
  18. So like the title says, I noticed my barrel is canted to the right. At first shooting clays I noticed that it seemed odd the angles I need to hit. And then with slugs it became apparent. Looking down from the top and centering everything, you can tell the barrel is angled to the right a decent amount. Is there a fix for this? Would a bolt-on front sight help remedy? Also, say I didn't have that barrel cant problem. A traditional bird/clay gun only uses a bead. What do you guys think about pulling the rear sight and cutting the front bead off and mounting a Dinzag short front tower? No rear
  19. After selling my unconverted saiga 12 I bought in '08 and feeling like a dumbass for 5 months, I gained the courage and bought one new at a local shop (for WAYYY too much). There were some variances that I don't know whether they carry over to other importers (mine is an EAA), like visible spot welding through the finish and a different mag catch, slightly different shape to carrier (I think), I honostly feel it is far sturdier and better built than my last. It went together mostly without a hitch, considering I used a hacksaw and hammer to get the rivets off, and a bench grinder to reshape the

  21. When mine went, it was fully loaded with 3" 00 buck and the first shot the whole top of the mag shattered and it fell out of the gun. Not even in cold weather. Actually I believe it was a nice day. I'm sure it was a fluke but as they say.. "I'm OUUUT!!"
  22. So I used the search and got lots of things about the different 10 round mags from all manufacturers, but nothing about the 5's. I'm going to mainly use 5's and supplement them with factory 8's. SOOOO, how do the Promag 5 round mags hold up? Do the locking tabs shatter like the AGP's I've tried? Is the metal insert just on the feed lips? etc etc
  23. I have one and it worked very good. Then the plastic retaining tabs on the backside all cracked. Somehow it didn't come apart though and still works, but it's going and soon. Fully loaded with 00 buck might have been the issue.
