  1. You mean like THIS ONE thats already been on the market for years? <Link Removed>
  2. Mine was threaded from the factory, but not all the way back to the FSB. That would have worked fine for a slant brake, but I wanted to mount a Phantom, so I took my shroud off all the way back to the FSB, heres pix of the factory threads, and also after I installed the Phantom extra-deep Hider from Dinzag. It comes 14x1 LH. After I figured out that it wouldnt thread all the way back to the FSB like I wanted it to, Dinzag stepped up, and for no additional cost other than the postage to ship it back to me, bored it out to go over the unthreaded part and snug up to the FSB...Thanks!
  3. Yes, the snakes are great for cleaning. But, My idea here is to mount the rod under the barrel in the traditional AK place for looks more than anything...here is a pic of the pins that were left after changing the front handguard. A u-shaped loop or c-shaped piece with holes to go over the pin ends might hold the front end of the cleaning rod in the right place.. .I'll post another pic in a follow-up post of the cleaning rod hole in the MI quad rail forward guard...i think this might work for anyone who has freed up those pins, might have to drill a rod hole for some front handguards.

  5. She has everything BUT the extra y stamp..Dimples, HG retainer cutouts, threads, PG hole cut, NO step barrel...I lucked out on this one!!
  6. yeah, I was just using this pic to show the BB in another thread. All the other pics in this gallery are my gun.
  7. wow...so unless I look, think, and act like YOU I'm not to be taken seriously? ... whatever, guy.
  8. You are totally correct, it is a State law you can not have a collapsible stock in CA, and as stated you will have to pin the stock, the pins can not be removable..... You are totally wrong, there is NO law like that. check the calguns flowchart, check the 'evil features' list, check the bullet Button and detachable mag regs, and go from there. The only rule that would apply to that would be the regulation to be at least 30" OAL in the shortest configuration. Most telescopic stocks are. And STOP GIVING WRONG INFO....
  9. "It is however required that you check with the County DAs office as some countys prohibit bullet buttons." Could someone tell me what counties in Cali outlawed bullet buttons as stated in a previous post? I can not find that info on calguns or from anyone here in cali, where i have lived for almost 50 years....
  10. Someone MUST have though up this one before, i'm just checking.... When I converted my x 39, I replaced the front handguard with a MI quadrail one. This made the Gas Block visible, that was covered by the stock handguard, and on the bottom of it, are 2 small pins going thru the bottom that used to hold on the front of the handguard. Now, I just noticed that the MI quad rail guard has a hole for a cleaning rod in it, under the barrel. Has anyone thought of a way, using the small pins that are now just hanging there under the gas block, to attach a cleaning rod, using a small loop or so
  11. Yeah, as much as I want a folder, now I have to deal with the Cali 30' OAL rule. I found out that California measures your gun in the shortest configuration, so i have to be over 30" folded. So, either I would have to get a 'no mods' Ace folder, or add a very long FH, neither are things that I really wanted to do. I just added a bored out and drilled Phantom FH all the way back to my FSB, and it looks good. ( it was bored by Dinzag beacuse my stock Russian threads didnt go all the way abck to the FSB) I like the clean look of the 'mods required' Ace folder mounts, but they would not k
  12. hmmm, 43 views and no replies....good thing I found the answer from someone on calguns....
  13. I'm considering an Ace folder, and live in Cali where the OAL has to be over 30" while folded. Anyone running an Ace, what is your OAL? I do have a FH on the barrel, anyone know if that is part of the OAL measurement in CALI? this is cross posted on calguns.net for additional replies... thanks, all..
  14. I wasnt jumping on anyone, just trying to figure it out. He is offering his remaining guns at a great price. I would buy another if I had the money right now.... just trying to figure out why we keep hearing that saigas wont be coming into certain places anymore...
  15. "Due to contract issues, we have been told by our distributors to not expect any Saiga rifles or shotguns once the current inventories dry up." This sounds like issues between their distributors and that seller, not issues with the rifles becoming not available to other sellers....or from the importer, RAAC.. maybe Cadiz gun works will chime in, isnt he the RAAC warranty place? or, has anyone just picked up a phone and CALLED RAAC about this? I know the 5.45 rumor ( not coming in anymore) was debunked by just a call to them.... Just my two cents, I already have my Saiga.
  16. Mine was doing that with some ammo at first, look carefully exactly where the bullet tips are hanging up on the BG. Then, take a round chain saw file, (the long, thin ones), and you can take the mag out, and up thru the magwell, file a couple of small shallow grooves where the tips hang up. Smooth it out with some emery cloth, blow everything out clean, and check it again. You might also have to file a bit off the front edge of the BG to round it off a bit on the top edge. A small flat chainsaw raker file works for this.. Just keep adjusting with small files until it all works r
  17. I like the PRK Arms AK Bullet Button. made tough, no way an LEO can get it to release without a tool of some sort, and locks up solid. $45 bucks delivered from PRK Arms. they have a subforum on www.calguns.net, they are in Fresno, Ca. here's a pic from Calguns of the PRK Bullet Button for AK or saiga ( on Stock saigas will need a little modifiying to fit, nothing major)
  18. Here she is finished , pending Flash Hider install, and after i decide whether to put an Ace side Folder on her....
