  1. Nice wrist bands..... Dip shit or is it dipshit? Either way he is one or both of the two. P.S. You'll shoot your eye out kid.
  2. Sbr is fun but cans (in the flesh and metal) are even more fun. IMO get a 22 can first. That was my first stamp. Cause of it though I now have like 8 different 22s that are threaded. Oh get a 22 upper for your sbr but not a 5 in I did and regret it sometimes.
  3. Are there any 20rd mags for the saiga 5.45? I have 3 30s and 1 45rd mag but like a 20rd mag for hunting hogs - not as long easy to walk and stock I guess the factory one will work- technically that should be 5 dead hogs. Anyway if 20s are available I would buy. I have some for my norinco ak and like them
  4. Just completed my 5.45 build and Greg helped out a lot. I have no problem sending friends to CSS. Couldn't be happier my money went to such a good product and company. Thank you Greg. That internal adapter for the folding stock is pure genius. the trigger guard is a great CSS product as well.
  5. Price $349, Saiga makes different calibers, which do you want? I assume a 7.62x39. I just built a 5.45x39- Got it and all parts from CAROLINA SHOOTER SUPPLY. AWESOME place talk to Greg. He has video links on how to for conversion builds. WATCH them a couple of times before you start. makes things easier and you will know what you want to change as far as parts. you can also call if he doesn't answer- believe it or not he calls back- wish other companies had his customer service.
  6. no. Greg from CSS said i wouldn't need it, i only had one FTF during 120rds.
  7. I like the ultimak, but you have to chop a bunch of the handguard off. from the top about 1/2-3/4 in the length of the handguard or at least i did the length cause the notches I made looked like crap and really rough with the dremel. i like the folding stock but one thing i dont like is no cheek weld, but IDGAS i wanted a folder and like the dph has the quick detach stud in the stock.
  8. Thanks to Greg at Carolina Shooters Supply (CSS) and NMO on here for ideas, how to, and encouragement to do it myself. DPH Stock, ACE folder hinge, CSS internal block adapter, hogue grip, CSS billet trigger guard, tapco/tromic CSS FCG pack, ultimak rail, PA red dot, krylon camo paint, olive and black. oh and krylon BBQ pit paint. 1. Very easy to do, had some headaches but nothing basic knowledge couldnt do. A dremel was a huge help for internal block and handguard. i didnt use the Bolt hold open and had to put some bend in the hammer spring legs to rest on the trigger, THANK YOU Greg. Thi
  9. +1 a well Greg was easy to deal with and sold me only what I needed saves me $30 in parts I didn't need. And the install videos he made are awesome
  10. Look at carolinasshootersupply they have a complete set. I think unfinished so you can stain to your liking call and talk to Greg he will make sure u get what u need to complete the job
  11. Well I got it, it is a legion with dimples and a rectangle etching like someone else posted. NMO imitation is the best compliment, right? I will have a real close set up to you. I will use a dph stock instead and have a gas block/front sight block combo with a cut barrel and pinned AAC blackout compensator. No way to take pics but I will.
  12. What about "salt away" we used it to flush our outboard motors on the boats. Anyone heard of this? Getting rid of the salt being the focus made me think of this.thanks for the help so far.
  13. What is the easiest way to clean your gun when using corrosive ammo? I would like to not use the hot water method, is there a spray cleaner? Damn bulk deals! I got aims surplus 2000 rds for the price of 1000 non corrosive.
  14. go to www.carolinashooterssupply.com they sell most of what you need and have videos on how to install it. i am in the same boat as you, and that has to be a great first start. you need a drill to do the mods which seems easy. if you have a drill press that is perfect but not needed. i have heard the same thing about the bullet guide not being needed. good luck. oh looking at pics from the 7.62x39, 223, and 5.45 build is a big help.
  15. Any particular reason, or you like me and want more guns? $300 is a lot of money but it does come with scope worth $200. i am thinking maybe the $125 option and add a primary arms red dot. that would be about $200. i use the PA on my 22 and think it would hold up on a 5.45 if it doesnt i know PA will fix it, they did in the past for me with NO hassle at all.
  16. FYI in case anyone is looking, I have been doing a lot of research and hadnt seen this MI optic combo http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=294 a little $$$ but consider the optic, and handguard. i think when you compare it to others it is about $30 more as it sits now.
  17. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=294 anyone looking for a handguard check this combo out!!! Holy crap i think it is a good deal.i am getting more broke by the moment.awaiting to see if they offer LE discounts but i will order before i get the gun. um before i get to eager, MI has a good rep for products right? anyone else all ready have it? pics. i plan on using another thread for anyone not interested in this one. CSS has a combination trigger guard/adapter that lets you put any AR-15 grip on an AK http://store
  18. i have a take apart 22 can and have cleaned it three times. believe me you dont want to shoot a 22 through other cans, unless it is no more than 50 to 100rds max. as for the recomendation SWR Trident 9. when i get to that, the trident is my order list. i have a swr spectre and aac m42k (waiting approval) everyone should at least have a 22 can- it is friggin nice to shoot without muffs.
  19. thanks for the help. after A bunch of searching i may just have cadiz gun works do the whole thing. thread barrel, tapco fcg, match trigger, weld and fill all holes. pistol grip adapter. new finish (not sure what they use, dura coat?) and have them weld in the folding stock adapter inside the reciever. it will be like NMO's sort of with a folding/colapsible stock with magpul ctr. and of course bullet guide. i wont mention price but it is close to what arsenal wants for their guns with fewer options than i am getting. cant wait to put my aac m42000 take some pics, but i wont have it for 1 or 2
  20. Is it hard to add the grip adapter for a magpul moe, and where to buy? Thanks.
  21. NMO what forearm is that, and if you dont mind how much was it? That thing is sweet. thread the barrel and i will buy it from you! ha ha
  22. Why is that? Do they redo the rivets? Would anyone know where I can buy a base model that also threads barrels? That would be perfect for me, cause I wanted to do a little bit of work to the gun. I called a place to thread but they are not yet set up, but in the process. Who knows how long they will take, and i wanted to save on having to ship it two different times. thanks i am still listening.
  23. i wasnt sure what was available for side folders, but i saw a folding colapsible stock with magpul moe. i like that set up, not traditional but whatever. i will look into the ultimak later. i am thinking this http://www.cadizgunworks.com/zcstore/ and add that stock from http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-650/Saiga-Magpul-MOE-Folding/Detail more money than i wanted to spend but oh well i really like that rifle. any other suggestions? thanks
  24. First nice avatar, and you are probably going to hell, lol. On a serious note I found a place and a sponsor of this site. http://www.cadizgunworks.com/zcstore/ now to ask them some more questions..... What kind of options do i have for a forend handguard? I wanted to do a cheap ak-74 but my how time and money fly.
