  6. just find a sniper and your good to go.mine is a tack driver that will only go up in value. fwiw it seems my russians shoot heavy ball the best.the challange is shooting WWII weapons/optics and getting the job done.your a marine go for it. pete air cav
  7. I love my saiga 308 but didn't think the recoil was that bad? but I also shoot my 45/70 alot. I just got a scope/scopemount set up and plan to hit the range this weekend. pete
  8. there is a difference between 762 nato and 308win.first the 308 win is loaded hotter than the milsec 762 nato and there is a slight difference in the neck angle of the brass. check out www.aimsurplus.com for prices on surplus ammo.great guys to deal with. I have only shot my handloads in my 16 inch saiga. 147 gr win fmjbt 42 grs IMR 4895 1980 lc match brass win lg. rifle primers this is the same load I use in my M1A and it outstanding in my saiga, which as far as I am concerned is the best buy for the buck out there today. pete

    new guy

I guess I am the new guy here.I am glad I found this site.I just bought a saiga 308 w/ 16 inch barrel.I took it out to the ranch today for its first firing. I grabbed 2 boxes of my handloads for my m1A and set up targets at 65 paces. first group measured 1 1/4 inch w hornady 150 gr sp and the 2 nd group 1 1/2 with win 147 fmjbt is was after the barrel got alittle hot.I was firing off a bag on the hood of my ramcharger.I just can't believe how accurate this rifle is. one question I have who makes the best scope mount and where to buy it. thanks pete
