You should check out the company Tech Sights. I dunno if you want to keep the traditional leaf sight, but if you're just looking for a damn good rear sight they have, imho, the greatest rear iron you could put on an ak. A buddy of mine introduced me to the product, which is on his ak. I cannot say enough good things about it! Aids in quicker sight picture, nearly doubles your sight radius, and is rigid as hell!
