  1. I wasn't aware that I needed a tax stamp to take off only 3 inches.. And as far as how noticeable, if you hear a shortened saiga 12, not necessarily 3 inches shorter exactly, would you be able to distinguish the sound, or felt recoil as opposed to a stock length? Thanks for all the great input thus far. Jeff Just checked up on it again. Your right clxxx, 18 is the shortest you can go without one.
  2. Bump... im sure someone has some additional input? lol
  3. Sorry to revive such an old thread, but i was doing a bit of research into the subject. I was curious though, if i were to shorten my fully converted 19" s12 by about 3 inches how noticeable would the additional sound and recoil be? Also, would their be any other "drawbacks" besides the for mentioned ones and the increased shot spread? Thanks, Jeff
  4. Appreciate the input, just finished installing my own
  5. Yeah it seems pretty straight forward, just figured that someone would have documented their conversion by now and might have some useful input
  6. Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of, or has done a installation guide, either pictures or video, for the JT rock n lock? I was hopping to find a step by step process rather than the one on css done by JT him self. Thanks, Jeff
  7. Thats the exact one i made go on my sbs bumpfire
  8. Looks like a pretty legit sling..hopefully someone has tried it. Ive been considering a sling for a while now just because of the overall weight of my saiga with a md20 full of slugs and 00 but haven't been able to settle on one.
  9. I'm in NC as well. Back and forth between Wilmington(mostly) and Jacksonville, and everything in between... swansborrow too.
  10. Alright, so I changing out the tapco 6position stock on my saiga 12 with a moe stock from a 7.62 ar I have. I added the bumpfire stock too it so I had the spare moe and like it a bit more than the tapco one originally on my saiga. I took the limbsaver pad off of the tapco and managed to stretch it onto the bump fire stock. (yes i know this is semi pointless, but I didn't have another gun it stood a change of fitting on.) Now my question is this, do you think leaving the limbsaver pad stretched on the bumpfire stock is a bad/dangerous idea? It seems to stay on relatively well, but the pad cant
  11. Awesome, just what I wanted to hear. Like you said, I can always get the riser later at my local gun shop if I feel like its necessary. Now maybe I can some how get this limbsaver onto my new sbs bumpfire stock so it doesn't go to waste.
  12. In regards to an s-12 I cant say, but I really like it on my pws ar 10. It just gets your hand into a better and more natural angle imo. Definitely quality and durable like most products Ive use by magpul. The specs of the two I'm not entirely sure of, but I have the gen 2 which I know to be noticeably smaller than the 1. I'm sure you could find out the exact specs here though.. http://store.magpul.com/prod_detail_list/88
  13. Thanks, definantly appreciate the information! Another question tho, with the internal receiver block and pig nose adapter set up, isnt that all adjustable? Meaning the riser wouldn't be necessary at all? I thought that i had read it was but maybe I'm mistaken.
  14. I'm swapping out the m4 style collapsable stock on my s-12 with an old MOE stock. I already have a limbsaver on the m4 stock that ide like to scrap out and put on the moe if at all possible, but my question is this.. is it possible to put a limbsaver on an moe, and also which recoil pad would be most preferable on the MOE? The limbsaver, an ati scorpion but pad(assuming it will fit properly), or the pads they make especially for MOE's? And another question while were on the subject... i plan on putting a chaos titan rail with chaos hk sights on at some point soon. With an internal receiver
  15. Nice s12 you got there. What kind of receiver block is that?
  16. Thanks, now if only css can have the chaos titan and internal receiver block in stock at the same time ill place my order.. lol
  17. Kinda raising this post from the dead, but i thought i would be another relevant question... So Im going to change the internal receiver in my saiga 12. I plan on ordering that, a pig nose adapter, and a new mil spec buffer tube for my mil spec moe stock. My new question, would a buffer tube lock ring castle nut be necessary. Why or why not, and if its not necessary what would the benefits be? Thanks
  18. Well with the stock and limb saver as it is the recoil is very manageable, I just figured more recoil reduction wouldn't hurt, but I didn't consider the cycling in this equation.
  19. Appreciate the info. Clean saiga you've got their. How do you like the magpul flip sights? I considered them but ended up going with hk sights which I have yet to get welded on.
  20. Has anyone tried one of these? http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/mako-ak47-8-position-collapsible-stock-wshock-absorber-p-580.html
  21. Thanks to all for the prompt answers. Typically all the questions I have can be answered with a bit of forum/google searching so I don't really post much on the forums. As far as answering other peoples questions, their always seems to be someone on here more insightful on the issue so I just let them handle it. lol Anyways, as far as pics, I sent out a lot of my internals to get them reworked so its a bit disassembled atm, but once I finish up doing everything I want to do to my saiga, including the new stock, I'll definantly post some pics. BTW, does anyone know if my limb saver recoil pad w
  22. Ok, I think Ive figured out part of my question. I'm thinking I need to get a internal receiver block, a 6pos buffer tube, and a pig nose adapter to put the magpul on the saiga. Thoughts?
  23. Hi, I'm not very active on these forums but I read thru them from time to time and have answered many of my questions without even having to post. Unfortunately this isn't one of those times... So my question is this... I have a saiga 12 I converted my self. It currently has a tapco t6 stock on it with a limb saver recoil pad. I also have a pws mk114 AR with a magpul moe buttstock. What I want to do is remove the magpul stock from the AR, replace it with a slide fire stock, and put the old stock onto the saiga in place of the tapco. I also want to remove the recoil pad from the tapco and put i
