  1. Ah awesome, thank you! I tried searching for about an hour but couldn't find anything for some reason. Only tutorials on crooked gas blocks.
  2. The lower portion of the chaos rail I purchased doesn't seem to be seating correctly on the barrel/gas block. The rail isn't sitting flush with the gas block and as a result I can't fully tighten the screw and it's giving the rail a really pronounced downward slant. I haven't tried installing the top portion of the rail, however it looks like it won't work without straightening the lower portion out so it's parallel with the barrel. The only solution that I could see would be filing down the rear portion of the gas block, which I don't really want to do. Has anyone encountered this proble
  3. Here's the Legion I just picked up today. The bolt hold open is loose and the spring popped off, causing it to jam on the third time that I worked the action. Anyone else had that happen on a new Saiga? Also, any method to cover up the mark on the side where they etched out the RAA stamp?
  4. I bought the Carolina SS trigger guard, cut the rear most portion off which includes the attached grip nut, then just cut a hole in the receiver of my S-12 and used a grip nut. Couldn't be happier with the sturdiness. If you want I can post a picture of what it looks like. I also highly recommend the Hogue Monogrip.
  5. Nevermind, I decided to stop being a sissy and just cut out the grip nut hole. I think it came out pretty well, however in my zeal I completely neglected to check my internal receiver stock adapter for fit. I forgot that the adapter has two prongs that sit flush with the bottom of the receiver and straddle the hole for the grip nut. I checked and it seems like the grip nut will sit on these just fine and the Hogue Monogrip actually feels more secure when I tighten it down with the grip nut on top of the prongs. Is this stable? Is there a better way to do it? Did I totally fuck up
  6. I have one final question before I tighten and LocTite all of the components on my Saiga. I purchased a DIY Carolina Trigger Guard from CSS. It secures with three small screws through the preexisting holes in the bottom of the receiver. It seems to be extremely sturdy, however I've been reading about using a grip nut to secure the pistol grip as well. My understanding is that, in order to use the grip nut, you have to cut a small, square hole in the bottom of the receiver. I'd rather just mount the pistol grip to the trigger guard instead, as it seems easier. Is this method secure eno
  7. As soon as I get it painted and reassembled I'll be sure to post some. At the moment, it's in a gazillion pieces on my living room floor.
  8. Yeah, I think it's because I didn't drill out the holes with a 3/16'' bit after I broke the heads off the rivets and punched the pins out. I just now drilled them out with a 3/16'' and wiggled it a bit in the holes and the receiver adapter block fits right inside. A little tight on one of the screws but it went in easily and it's rock solid now. Thank you both for the prompt responses.
  9. I'm in the process of converting my Saiga and I purchased an internal receiver block from CSS. The quality of the block is top notch and I managed to cut the tang off and get it ground down flush with the end of the receiver. It looks perfectly squared off and the internal receiver block sits flush with the end of the receiver, however the side holes to secure the block don't line up with the holes from where I drilled out the pins which held the original trigger group. After I drilled out the rivet heads, I did not drill these holes out to 3/16'' and I believe they're right around 5/32''
