  1. I recently worked out a deal with devin_c1 for my S-308 for cash and one of my rifle stocks to be duracoted. I have to say it was great dealing with him, he is one of the most stand-up guys I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. He kept in constant contact with me throughout the whole ordeal and I feel we both are happy with the results of our trade. I think he has a good eye for color patterns with his duracote and will post some pics of the final product as soon as possible. I highly recomend doing business with him. Grim
  2. After reading the full ruling again, I believe if this were a SCOTUS ruling, it would come down to what would be defined as arms "in common use of the day". Cannons, altillary and weapons of mass destruction are already out as being considered arms, but one could easily argue that what the average infantry personel could be considered armed with what is considered in common use. This totally flies in the face of any "assault" weapon ban concept as the purpose of an individual having the right to keep and bare arms is putting these sort of weapons in the general publics hands. One part I fou
  3. Read that last line again... There is also a part in the full ruling (this is just the summary) stating some very good things about the plain language of the second amendment. All gun laws are based on the idea that the second amendment applies to only the states rights to regulate a militia and not (unlike all the other amendments) to the individual. The supreme court ruling in the 30's on the sawed off shotgun explicately states that it was not shown any evidence either for nor against the military use of the shotgun and based on the fact that the plaintiff was not able to provide any evi
  4. The ruling states that the 2nd Amendment applies to the individual's right to keep and bear arms and that that right shall not be infringed. Quote: "To summarize, we conclude that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms. That right existed prior to the formation of the new government under the Constitution and was premised on the private use of arms for activities such as hunting and self-defense, the latter being understood as resistance to either private lawlessness or the depredations of a tyrannical government (or a threat from abroad). In addition,

  6. Just a heads up, it would not be cost effective for any party to ship the 100+rds of ammo due to it's general crappyness (Indian corrosive w/possible bad loadings I've heard about) so unless you really want it, I'm withdrawing it from the deal. Sorry about that.
  7. Ok, here's some pics of it for you. Sorry if they aren't very good, will work on getting better ones if I can find a camera. The scratches I mentioned were too faint that they didn't show up on the photo. They aren't really noticable unless you look real close but I'm trying to be upfront with everything about this fine rifle I have here. Ask any questions you want and please, make an offer.
  8. I'm looking to sell my converted Saiga .308 with a Barska 4-12x illuminated scope and side mount. I have 1 20rd mag converted from my old 8rd with a FMBG mag body. The rifle itself has less then 500rds through it and has worked flawlessly except for when I was messing with the 8rd mag trying turn it into a 10rd. I blame the FTF's entirely on the mag. It's got a 16" barrel with a muzzle brake, original style polymer buttstock and pistol grip. Has a few small scratches in the bluing from trying to install the wrong sight-mount and a scratch under the safety select switch. Other then that i
  9. Hi, For all those interested in a .40 Hi-power, check out Reeds Ammunition research. If they have any left they were going for $400 for either the standard or the new SFS system. Don't know too much about the SFS, but it sounds silly to me. By the way these are FN not Browning but really, what's the differance? They are both made in the same factory I believe. Here's the link: http://www.reedsammo.com/ Just go to the online store page and look under pistols. Grim
  10. So, I suppose the mag bodies that were ordered seperately will be coming after the preorder is filled? Or do we have to wait for the next batch? No big deal for me, just curious if I have to start watching the mail a bit more closely anytime soon. Grim
  11. So, I take it that nobody has tried the Ciener 22lr kit on a Saiga? I too am interested in getting a .223 or 7.62x39 Saiga and putting one of these kits in it. Would allow me to shoot longer for less money and still be able to take it out and use it for something more serious if needed. I wonder if I have to add the feed ramp or if I could just put it in without doing anything to the stock rifle? Hmmm.... Grim
  12. and exactly why I no longer own my S-.308 Are there any FAL's available for under $500? You'd be lucky to find one under $750 that's reliable. If you think you're up to it, you can build one yourself for around that much if you can find a reciever. Grim
