  1. A scratch built rifle will not have Russian markings! That was important to me. I wouldn't want a rifle that was supposed to be a Russian service rifle with US markings on a receiver made in Ohio. All these rifles have to be compliant, so it's six of one, have a dozen of the other! It's probably cheaper to build it from scratch. That wasn't a concern for me! I recently took the rifle to a gun safety class that I taught. You should have seen the look on the faces of those kids, when I pulled this Russian marked rifle out of it's case and passed it around for them to handle. They could see
  2. I have a Saiga 5,45X39mm rifle. K-VAR has all the necessatry parts to do this conversion. What I can tell you is that the rifle is awesome. I love it! It's fairly accurate for an AK as someone else stated. I purchased a Bulgarian kit and did the conversion. Go for it. Worth the costs! One of the best reasons to use a Saiga for this is that the Saiga has all the Russian markings. Right now, we're getting ready to add a new US made folding stock. Sorry, no pics! S Won
  3. I have a Saiga in 5,45X39. Troy Sellars did the conversion for me. The rifle looks great (no pictures right now though) It still needs a little work. It was built before the AWB lifted so the bayonet lugs need fixed and a few holes on the bottom of the receiver weren't welded up. The rifle uses Tapco parts and was made from a regular Saiga, a Bulgarian kit and K-VAR parts. S Won
  4. It's been awhile since I've been on the site. I thought that I would post a picture of my 5.45X39 Saiga rifle. It's been almost 3 months since I received the rifle and I still haven't shot it yet. I have decided to send it to another gunsmith and have some things that I don't like fixed. swon
  5. I have a brand new Red Star Arms FCG for sale. These are completely adjustable and I will include a new Saiga selector switch with them. Check out Red Star Arms webpage for information. I want $75 for the parts. Contact me at: swmatteo@westco.net
  6. Sorry, Rock47. My prices do not include shipping. Shipping would be USPS Priority mail and should only be $3.85. swon
  7. chapperjoe, I couldn't find your email address to send you the pictures. So I decided to post them instead. swon
  8. chapperjoe, The scope is in excellent condition, just as I bought it from Tantal. I am only selling it because I bought a different scope for the rifle. I'll try to get a couple pictures out to you today. It might be later as I have to make a run to the PO to ship some parts. Thanks, swon
  9. I have a few items for sale that I no longer need. The rifle is not complete because it was stripped for a conversion. The receiver was damaged by a friend attempting to weld up the holes for me. I wasn't confident enough to do it myself so I farmed it out. The MIG welder was just too hot on the lowest setting and burnt through in a couple places. The flux wire left voids in the metal. It can probably be saved but I'm not up for it. I don't have any pictures and another friend is trying to clean it up for me. This is sold as is, and if you buy it, it's your's. Don't complain if you don't like
  10. The P90 is made by FN. They have a new manufacturing plant in Columbia, South Carolina. They could make the P90 in that plant, they might already be making them there for all I know. The AUG is vastly superior to the Bushmaster M17S. The Germans make the best stuff. I know, I know, the AUG is made in Austria. Same, same! That's why Glocks are so great! swon
  11. If it a US spec Saiga rifle I have seen them for about $250. I am still waiting on InRange to finish my Saiga conversion. They have had it so long I am considering leaving it with them until the AWB sunsets and having a side-folding AK-74M stock put on it. swon
  12. If you are looking for a scope for the 7.62X39 caliber weapons the PSO4X24V1 is the scope that you should be looking at. This scope is already caliberated for this caliber weapon. It is a great scope for the money. I purchased mine from Tantal and paid $99.95 plus shipping for it. This scope has the lighted reticle and the chevrons for 100M, 200M, 300M & 400M. It also has a range finder built into it. swon
  13. Here's my Mak-90. On this rifle the FCG and gas piston were replaced with Tapco parts. The laminated stockset is a US made Ironwood designs product. The gas piston was the hardest part to replace but it wasn't that difficult to do. I MIG welded the gas piston pin back in place myself. s won
  14. I am not a professional gunsmith but I can't see someone doing a dangerous conversion, if you use quality parts. The parts go together only one way so you can't really mess anything up. My conversions on two different rifles have made them better in everyway. However, I do only use the best parts I can find. I say go for it and post some cool pictures of what you build. s won
